Privacy Policy
The short version: I collect your name and email address when you sign up. I use it to send you things you asked for. I don't sell it. Ever.
What I collect
When you sign up through this site, I collect your first name, last name, and email address. If you choose to send me a message through the contact form, I also receive whatever you write — but that's entirely optional.
I don't collect payment information, sensitive personal data, or anything beyond what you voluntarily provide. My website host (Squarespace) may collect standard analytics data such as page views and general location information. You can read their privacy policy at squarespace.com/privacy.
How I use it
I use your name and email address to send you things you signed up for — the free dating spreadsheet template, updates about new resources, and occasional emails about The Examined Ordinary. That's it.
If I ever use a third-party email service (such as Mailchimp) to manage or send these communications, your information may be stored on their platform. I will update this policy if and when that changes.
What I don't do
I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Full stop.
Your choices
Every email I send includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and I will remove you from the list promptly. You can also email me directly at info@theExaminedOrdinary.com to request that your information be updated or deleted entirely.
A note on Virginia residents
If you're a Virginia resident, you have rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), including the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please email info@theExaminedOrdinary.com.
A note on international visitors (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. The legal basis for processing your data is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or emailing info@theExaminedOrdinary.com.
Cookies
This site is hosted on Squarespace, which may use cookies for analytics and site functionality. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.
Changes to this policy
If I make meaningful changes to this policy I will update the date at the bottom of this page. I won't notify you by email for minor updates.
